Ransom Riggs' The Conference of the Birds has been on my radar since I read A Map of Days and before it was even released.

I read this book without rereading the last ones and felt a little bit lost, but Riggs has inserted key pieces of the previous story in this book so I can easily dive back in the story. Riggs, once again, did a great job pulling me into Jacob's world of peculiars and loops! Five books in, it still boggles my mind how Riggs writes the story around the photos, and vice versa. The combination of haunting vintage photos and gripping story is why I love this series and continue on reading the books.

I thought this book would be the last of the Miss Peregrine series, but judging from the ending, there will be more? I will definitely keep an eye on it!

I recommend this series if you want to read books of the dark fantasy genre. You might love it! 4⭐

Generally, I think the first three books of the series were so good, the characters, world building, plots. I was in love!... and then came book 4-6. This book was readable, and quite a quick read, yet it felt like it was more of a money-maker; the quality was not prioritised.

Bonuspoint: I don't remember the prior books being THIS awkward and corny.

3.5 I wanted to like this as much as the rest of the series, but it was missing something that made the other novels so fun to read. I think the series should've stopped at book 4.

4.3 ⭐️

As the last 4 I love this world. It’s crazy but addictive
