This book was crazy good!! I was hooked and couldn’t wait to see what happened to Anna and John, I feel like this plot is done a lot but the way this one was written sure made it seem different.
I'm not quite sure I would classify "Dear Anna" as a thriller but more of a very dark domestic drama. It almost played out as a Lifetime movie. A wife scorned by her cheating, rich husband who gets revenge. The book was written with just the right amount of info (not dragged out with too many details) and drama. This will be a quick read and one I would recommend if you're looking for something a little different.
Ha! Sometimes the right book and the right moment align and create a particularly fulfilling experience. This was that book and that time for me. I've been craving women's revenge books lately and this one had a bit of a unique flair to it.
I believe there is a little bit of Medeia in every woman. Now, she isn't very likable but then again, I don't think most women would be in her situation. Cheating spouses don't necessarily bring out the best in a woman. But her less than charming demeanor didn't stop me from cheering her on the whole way through and taking satisfaction in seeing her do things I could only fantasize about. Medeia is not just a woman scorned. She's eerily conniving, laser focused, and just a wee bit psycho.
I really enjoyed this story and if you need a bit of revenge in your life, let Medeia show you how it's done. ;)

I have a confession. I’ve been a terrible mother the last 48 hours because I COULD NOT STOP LISTENING TO THIS AUDIOBOOK!
Man, do I love a good revenge story. Add in a possible sociopath for a narrator and I’m hooked.
I finished this alarmingly fast and was sad when it ended. I look forward to checking out other works by this author in the future.
Spoiler ahead! Do not continue if you haven’t read!
My one big question was about Medeia’s new friend Jane. Was she a real person or was she a figment of Medeia’s imagination the entire time? Reminded me of Tyler Durden in Fight Club. She popped up at exactly the moment Medeia’s needed a friend in her life. It just so happens she shares Medeia’s warped sense of morality. Jane had a “problem” (her husband) and she solved it, much like Medeia planned to do. Just seems way too coincidental. Plus, no one ever spoke to Jane except Medeia. Even the part when she dressed up like a waitress had me thinking it was a nod to Tyler Durden. How do you just slip in a random waitress when you hire a catering company?! I was surprised when the big “reveal” never came at the end that Medeia had created Jane in her mind to give her the confidence to go through with her plan!
Either way, this was an excellent book and I highly recommend it! 5 Stars!

"Dear Anna,
Allow me to introduce myself.
I'm a smart bitch from the streets, not a doll in a Versace dress. That's the role that I've been playing. I have done a lot of horrible things to obtain money in my life. Killing you and John won't even come close to the worst.
I have covered up my father's crimes just so my family could have groceries for a week. A week. That's all the money it took to motivate my father to mug someone. He even hurt a man so severely that he died three days later, just for enough cash to buy one bottle of gin. That's it.
Don't be fooled by what you see. I'm not a dumb trophy wife."
This is a tale of an abused and scorned woman's revenge. And quite honestly it's probably the best psychological thriller I have read all year.
Medeia is the oppressed wife of John Moore, he doesn't let her have a job, have friends he hasn't pre-approved and has convinced her that her family are no good. His consistent berating comments which he insists are only 'looking out for her' go a small way to show the extent of how emotionally abusive and controlling John is to Medeia. Medeia thought she was the perfect wife, following her husband's rules and responding accurately to his moods in soothing, placating tones. Until she caught him cheating on her with his secretary, Anna. What is a traditional husband-shags-secretary tale soon becomes a story of the Survival of the Fittest, and Medeia strives to exact her revenge on them both.
I have never rooted for someone more as I have rooted for Medeia. She is the socially awkward, slightly morbid, intelligent character I could easily be best friends with. Reading about her plight and her journey of what and how she should have her revenge are possibly the most fun I have had with a thriller.
The plot developed exactly how I wanted it to, the stakes were high for everyone, the tension was thick, and through it all Medeia had to play the perfect wife to John whilst plotting his demise. The creepy notes to Anna were the cherry on top of a pretty filling cake.
All in all, [b:Dear Anna|43713916|Dear Anna|Katie Blanchard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1560763347l/43713916._SY75_.jpg|68026067] by [a:Katie Blanchard|17678926|Katie Blanchard|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1567711142p2/17678926.jpg] is amazing. Each character gets what they deserved and the story stays intense and engaging throughout.
