Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review!

While the magic system and characters were intriguing, the pacing felt a little sluggish during the middle, though picked up at the end. At times, the dialogue and the writing style felt amateurish, and I probably would've enjoyed this more as a younger teenager. However, it is a good debut and the author has a lot of potential for future books.

I really wanted to like it, especially since the premise sounds interesting. But it's written like bad fanfiction.

For some reason, I simply find this book endearing. While it takes a little while to get used to the writing style, the elements were nonetheless captivating. The characterizations is definitely something to take note of as the author took a normally feminine aspects and merge it to the MMCs personality- and done so beautifully.

For those starting with Fantasy, this is definitely something recommended

I'm forcing myself to branch out from my usual YA LGBTQ romance books, but only slightly. I love how the story showcases an "urban fantasy" twisted into this story, understanding what a dryad is, and seeing how stories with a fantasy theme do not always have to be bright and cheerful.

Getting to know Quill and his background could be relatable. I felt like it was something similar that I experienced during my teenage years, with all that angst and attitude. (Granted, I wasn't homeschooled or kept away from society to the point where I didn't know how to interact with another human.)

I did feel like the ending with Azazel felt rushed and could have easily been dragged out a bit longer, by tinkering with Quill's family a bit more or messing with Liam's circle. The ending was cute enough, giving a sense of "true love".

One more thing, I felt the jacket blurb was a bit misleading. It was overhyped than the actual story presents itself.
