A fun, twisty read! I really enjoyed this book. My only critique is that the time jumps were sometimes hard to follow. I listened to the audiobook which may have contributed to this but I also don’t know why each chapter listed the floor of the narrator rather than the time. Regardless, I recommend this book if you’re looking for an intriguing thriller.

What a quick, mysterious read! Once I stepped into life at the apartment, I was completely intrigued and had to know what happened. I liked Jess and her determination to find the truth. The characters all had their secrets, and those little reveals just kept me flipping pages. Short chapters also kept things moving at a quick pace. The ending was definitely not something I anticipated!

While the story was definitely interesting, I feel as though this book was only meh for me. The characters lacked depth & were difficult to connect to. I know they’re supposed to be morally ambiguous & sometimes even unlikeable, but there was absolutely nothing that made me care for any of them. Not a single one. They all seemed pretty disposable & the ending of the mystery aspect just felt like a cop out to me. I was interested to see where the story was heading so I kept reading, but I would only recommend this to certain people. The pacing was odd—sometimes it was slow, sometimes it was fast. I still have questions unanswered that leave me feeling unsatisfied with how the story ended. The book wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t something that I’d read again. Nothing about it really stuck out to me.

This is my third Lucy Foley book and my favorite. Love how her stories are revealed through different perspectives.

Kept me guessing until the very last page. Although I’m currently sick (thanks Covid) I found it very difficult to put this one down.

Bonus points because it takes place in Paris.
