By all means a lovely read with a wonderful narrative. Tempest really has a knack for rhymes and the book is written in a lyrically interesting and mesmerizing way. The accolades that she received for this long poem is very well deserved.

I can’t really say that I’m that fond of the plot, it’s not bad in any way but after the appraisal that it was given by friends I was expecting more.

Language 5/5
Plot 3/5

Tempest's talent for language is immense. The craft of the poem is superb, every line clearly thought out down to punctuation. She tells the story of two families that demonstrate how the themes of ancient myths live on in our modern lives. I did not personally connect with the text, but such a short book is worth the time.

Magnificent.
Finished it in one day of course because it’s only short. You can really hear the words as if spoken aloud, they roll along irresistibly, and in that sense it takes a direct route from Homer to Chaucer to Milton to today... with a similar detached yet sympathetic authorial voice, bringing the characters springing fully formed off the page.
Loved it.
