DNF’d at 11% – I can’t bring myself to continue reading this sloppy writing and editing. The amount of irrelevant monologues, swear words and overtly descriptive details remind me of Jennifer Armentrout’s FBAA. Tons of fillers and fluff. Example: “His hair was jet black and tied back in a long ponytail that swayed behind him.” Of course ponytail sways, was that necessary? “Fuck. I had hoped to never come face-to-face with one, and yet, here stood one. Double fuck”

I just couldn’t fully emerge into the world. I like the idea behind the book and feel like I would’ve ranked it higher if I was able to get into the world but it was very difficult for me. I believe this also had to deal with the narrator I was listening and how it was just a women speaking for all pov’s, which I normally don’t care but the narrator didn’t switch up how each MC sounded. It just wasn’t my cup of tea for that.

chills. I LOVE THIS BOOK. except when dianna is literally putting every human and plant and book before her own life. this is the first book i’ve read where the FMC was technically the villain
