Cute romance, and an interesting world, but sometimes choppy and disjointed.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a refreshingly new world of supernatural and magical creatures, reminding me a bit of Artemis Fowl in some ways (with the magical Bureau). The breadth and depth of this magical world (incorporating Eastern and Western mythology with ease) was so wonderful to read. I loved the growth of both Luc and Elle’s characters and their journey to selfish- I mean, self-interest

Ahhh!!! Will absolutely be following Tsai from now on, I hope she writes more in this universe.

I really enjoyed this grown up book about people with magic! Complex characters, mystery and intrigue, love, and overcoming trauma and our own inner turmoil.

A really interesting modern fantasy world, with a thoughtful blend of different cultures and mythologies.

For how unique this is, I am surprised I have seen nothing about it at all. Give this a chance if you want to mix fantasy with a spy romance and family trauma.

I loved this so much! This made my heart so happy.
