Anaconda

3.2 AVERAGE

This was a real quick read I loved every moment of it!

Good idea- poor follow through. I felt like the characters weren’t developed well enough and I wasn’t invested in the outcome. My favorite character was actually the best friend. Have read other books by this author that were amazing so I’m hoping this is a one off.

The Story of impoverished student/chambermaid Brianna and football star Gavin ‘Anaconda’ Adams. I liked the premise of this book. Big football star accidentally flashes a reporter and gets a reputation for being well endowed. Meets poor maid and sweeps her off her feet. Ok great.

Why only two stars?

Gavin was a bit whiney. I get that no one could move on from the giant cock thing. I see that it meant no one took him seriously and that he was objectified. But i am sure getting to play the game you love professionally whilst earning a truck load of money so you can drive around in your shiny Lotus or fly around in a private jet, must keep you warm at night as you sob into your pillow over the world knowing you have an amazing man salami.

Boo hoo hoo.

I didn’t feel any real sense of connection between the two characters. It’s a big case of instalove. I was just left not really understanding why he would even contemplate giving up his lucrative career so his girl of one week could stay in her hometown even though she’s lost her job and has no family there anymore.

I also thought the anal on the second date was a little jarring. Maybe that’s just me.

And what kind of endearment is ‘My sweet little bunny’? Bri was already a bit of a wimp but this just made her seem flimsier than a paper bag.

And finally, my biggest bug bear. A sports romance with no sport in it. None. Not even a workout or a run. Not one game, not one game conversation. I am one of the odd breed that actually like the sporty bits.

So did he really have an Anaconda???

Well, yes. Yes he did. However, I'm happy to report that this story was about more than what was swinging in the man's pants.

Gavin Adams was a pro NFL athlete when an accidental flashing made him famous in an entirely different way, earning him the nickname of "Anaconda". A name he hated and was eager to distance himself from. When he was offered a role in a movie, he took it in hopes of repairing his image. Brianna was the maid at the hotel where he was staying on location. Pursuing a degree in Business Management, Brianna dreamed of doing better for herself and contributing to the small town she called home.

This was my first time dabbling in the work of Lauren Landish, but it definitely won't be my last. I found this story to be well-written, sweet, funny, and incredibly sexy. I did mention that Gavin was packing, right?

He had no shame in his game, but he had a lot more to offer as a person and didn't hesitate to give his all to Brianna.

Cute enough I would have given a 2.5, but I didn't enjoy the two "bonus" stories included enough to bump it up to a 3.

This book was super entertaining. Laugh out loud moments throughout the book. But I must say, there were some cringey moments as well. All in all, I enjoyed it.

First book read for the #romancetakeoverbuddyread

2.75 ish

This book was addicting. I read the first story in a couple of hours. I enjoyed the story, even though it was cheesy. But the writing style was....kind of bad. It was really simple, almost like a bad middle-grade novel.

I might finish the other stories, but I'm not sure.

My anaconda what!
