I enjoyed it overall...and it was very amusing in many places. The greatest detractor is mainly the never ending evening as Mikhail pretty much spends about three days walking around greeting people and saying he needs to get home to Raven. I guess he can do it easily enough as there are so many Carpathians there to generate constant cloud cover for him. Seriously...*facepalm*
its interesting to see them all together...but HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR DIMITRI AND SKYLERS STORY!!!

This is a gathering of Carpathians from previous stories & future books to celebrate both Christmas & to assist with the latest birth in the community. There's some very funny parts and some very dangerous parts. This doesn't work well as a stand alone.
Fun to see all the characters from previous books again, learn more about Skylar and Dominic.
Was a bit surprised about how successful the attacks were on the women and children and none of the Hunters seemed to work on a solution. End felt a bit rushed, but hopefully more detail in the next book.
solid 3.5

Winter Reading Challenge 2020/2021
Challenge Topic: Read a book that makes you happy.
When I saw the winter challenge I knew instantly which book I was going to read. Christine Feehan is my Favorite author and this is one of my favorite books. I just love the feeling of family this book creates. To watch all of the Carpathains come together and show just how much they are "together" is amazing. I can read this book over and over and over again and I break out in laughter (I'm talking huge, my family thinks I've gone insane, laughter).
Just a warning though, if you don't like sex scenes then maybe this wouldn't be for you. Feehan is not shy about her love scenes.

Book #63 of the EBN Challenge (2019) at my Library.
Challenge Topic: A book written by a favorite author of yours.
Christine Feehan is one of my all-time favorite Authors!
Dark Celebration brings the Carpathians together for Christmas (at least the ones we know up to this point in the series and a few others). The tension, the pranks, the cammraderie, it all makes for a wonderful book. I loved every minute of it and couldn't put it down.
Wait.... Don't forget the recipes at the back!!! I've tried most of them. :)

Dark Celebration is a bit different than the other books within the Dark Series. However I have read this book quite frequently from the library, and I thought it was about time to do a review on it. For those of you who don't know much or really none about this series, let me explain it a bit for you. The Carpathian series, is a paranormal series, very similar to vampires, however Carpathians are a bit different from vampires. The Carpathian race is dying out, they are a honorable race, however they are bound to be extinct. In this world that Christine Feehan has created, Carpathians males are very "alpha" so it can be very enjoyable at time and humorous to read. But the males have a darkness within them, and if they don't find their lifemates, then they will eventually turn vampire and lose their souls. So in each of the books, its about how each Carpathian male finds his lifemate, and trust me their lifemates are independent, strong willed spitfires, and its amusing to watch the couple come together. In this book, its a Christmas celebration, where all the Carpathians, especially the couples and their children come together. Its one of my favorites of the Dark Series, and those that have read this one already will probably agree with me. Its definitely full of amusing wit, suspensful action and intrigue, intense passion and a tender story of coming together as a united species.
Oh, this was fun. Ensemble casts always make me nervous, but I'm glad I read this. Basically, it's a Carpathian Christmas reunion where Mikhail visits all the other couples. We get updates on relationships, families, even children. There was a lot of humor in this book, and I laughed out loud several times. There was also a lot of action and sadness, mostly with Skyler. New plot threads got introduced, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Also, love the Santa Claus scene!
By far, my favorite Carpathian book. It made me fall in love with all the characters even more!
Oh, this was just a fantastic book, because all their reactions to Gregori to be Santa Clause? So funny! And lots of things were developed in terms of the future, like babies, and new lifemate pairs, and yeah, I just loved it!
