The head hopping omniscient POV was distracting and felt too convenient (very “winking at the audience”). I didn’t feel bought into the romance and connection between characters.

Unapologetic fortune hunting heroine sets her cap for the youngest son of an Earl.

This reminded me of a slightly goofier and much longer The Hermit’s Daughter. I’m annoyed with myself for not reading this book sooner.
