This is a gorgeous story about a little girl discovering how to be a ballerina.
I remember when my daughter went to baby ballet classes. She was very similar to the girl in the story who didn't quite conform at first and wanted to try 'walking like a robot' and 'monkey bars' too!
Just like the little girl she loved performing too though (and still does!)
'Going on stage feels magic. Like fireworks. Like Christmas-tree lights in your tummy.'
We enjoyed reminiscing about ballet, laughing at the funny parts and sharing this book together.
The illustrations are gorgeous and really capture the experience of a young ballet class. The illustrations are really diverse and inclusive which is great to see.

This book is perfect for any young aspiring dancers and performers out there!

I loved this book, despite not having ever been a 'Dance Dad' or attending ballet classes. It has a wonderful sense of humour and captures the voice of its' young narrator perfectly. You can just imagine a cheeky young girl imparting all these nuggets of wisdom that she has learned! Beautiful, funny & encouraging.
