I wanted to like this - as I like Tom Hanks - and the reviews on the jacket were great. However, the stories are mostly about boring people doing boring things. DNF.

I'm a huge fan of Tom Hanks the actor, but not so much of Tom Hanks the writer. This collection is just okay. A short and light read.

If you have the opportunity to listen to this on audio, do it. The first story was my favorite and had me laughing out loud. Hanks is a great narrator.

Mimo przeogromnej sympatii do Toma Hanksa - porzuciłam czytanie po drugim opowiadaniu. Nie wiem czy to kwestia tłumaczenia, czy po prostu stylu autora, ale dla mnie była to bardzo męcząca lektura.

Język jak dla mnie bardzo nieprzystępny, milion wepchniętych nazw: amerykańskich zdarzeń, sprzętów, nazwisk, za którymi może nadążyć chyba jedynie Amerykanin. Do tego te dwa opowiadania, które przeczytałam były bardzo przeciętne i kompletnie nie zapadające w pamięć...

Wybacz Tom, jednak pozostanę przy twoich filmach :(

I love America’s Sweetheart, Tom Hanks. I did not love this book. The majority of the stories were unfortunately very dull.

Short stories aren’t usually my jam, but with Tom Hanks narrating, I figured I was safe. And these stories are that, safe. A few loop around and include the same characters. A few are memorable for their characters and the events. All include some typing or a typewriter, hardly surprising considering the title of the collection and Mr. Hanks’s penchant for collecting them. Not a bad way to spend some listening hours.
