This started a little slow at first. There was a lot of set up and info-dumping that I might've appreciated more for puzzle-solving if I hadn't been listening to an audiobook. As it was, the information was rattled off, and I retained little of it, which isn't really the book's fault. But I just couldn't get excited about the story at first, despite the fact that it was on airplane, when they were a brand-new form of travel for everyday people. I did think that part was interesting to read about. Probably there just wasn't enough Poirot at the start, heh. But eventually he made his appearance and the story picked up, the plot thickened, and before I knew it I was trying to seriously figure it out, and laughing out loud at the jokes sprinkled throughout. That earned this a bump up to 4 stars because I always enjoy a book that can make me laugh.
There was this little gem that appealed to my old archaeology background, made all the better by Christie's own connection to the profession:
As I look at it an archaeologist is a poor kind of fish. Always burrowing in the ground and talking through his hat about what happened thousands of years ago - and how do they know, I should like to know? Who's to contradict them? They say some rotten string of beads is five thousand three hundred and twenty-two years old, and who's to say it isn't? Well, there they are - liars, perhaps - though they seem to believe themselves - but harmless.
- the forthright Inspector Japp.

Lots of twists and turns. I had suspicions, but I was a little off the mark and didn't see the whole picture.
How do you shoot a poisoned dart into someones neck on an Aeroplane, when no one saw it??? (this is not a spoiler).
This was a fun romp; and Hercule Poirot is again at his best. He was much more prominent in this story than the last.

Cool setting with having the murder take place in an airplane dringend flight.
Good book with some clever moments. Didn't suspect the ending one bit

Another great hercule poirot mystery. Definitely solvable if you take notes as you go and pay close attention to the text and clues
Another intriguing Christie novel! Also interesting to see the prevalent racism so casually mentioned....
