If you want action, seek elsewhere. If you want to read about investigators interviewing, read on. Please ignore Poirot's constant half-musings as he turns out to have been fooled at the end, anyway. Unusual for her, Christie doesn't give the readers all of the evidence needed to solve the crime on their own.

I’m a huge Christie fan and this was the first of her books that I’ve had to force myself to “just get though”. The writing felt disjointed and the characters fell flat. Definitely don’t recommend, especially if you are new to Agatha Christie. If you’re looking for a lesser known Christie book to read after some of her big ones (Death on the Nile, Orient Express, etc), I’d recommend Murder in Mesopotamia instead!

Seldom do I rate books with 2 stars. This rating must not be interpreted as a bad one. The book has little literary value, though I have enjoyed it as a light read that can relax someone. I (not strongly) recommend you read it as an interval between difficult or tedious books as a break.
