Entertaining, engaging, and definitely readable, though not up to par with Christie's best and falters a bit when compared to the similar mystery of The Murder on the Orient Express. Still, it deserves praise for being a swift read with many moments of humor.

This was just fun, an all-around classic Poirot with an enticing crime scene, at least for someone who flies as much as I do. In fact, reading this on a plane made it an extra special treat.

There were quite a few little red herrings that kept me guessing, including the identity of Anne Morisot. But, as usual, Ms. Chrisitie totally surprised me in the end (though some of it may have been woeful self-delusion!).

(As a final note to this short review, I will mention that there was some overt (and completely unnecessary) racism in this book, more so than most of her others that I've read.)
