In chapter 13 of the novel as it was originally published, a couple on a first date bond over all the things they like and do not like—and one of the things this “charming” pair dislike is Black people. Blessedly, the sentence was scrubbed from the audiobook I listened to.
Blissfully ignorant of that matter, I did enjoy the setting (a passenger flight), and chapter 19 is quite funny. However, if you bear in mind how sweet Poirot is, his machinations quickly signal the identity of the murderer.

I didn’t care for some of chapters where we’re seeing what they’re up to after the murder.

“M. Poirot, almost certainly the criminal; the only man on board who could create a psychological moment.”
It was only a question of time before our Poirot is considered to be the murderer. Well, not exactly, but this did make me chuckle. A murder is committed during a flight from France to England, and no one ‘saw’ a thing. Off goes our little Belgian to clear his name and that of the other passengers who have all fallen under the shadow of culpability, but how do you find a murderer when no-one has a motive? Or do they? Queue Christie portraying a disparate group of people, making us wonder what makes them tick and if one of them is a killer while throwing misdirections aplenty. Enjoyable as always :O)
