Easily the greatest book I've ever read.

One hundred years of health for you and your children, dear fellow readers, and the blessings of the Lord of the Overlooked

This took me by absolute surprise! I finished this so much quicker than I thought I would! I just could not put the book down! I have a hard time expressing just how much I loved this book!

First I want to just say that this was a very smooth read. It does have fantasy elements, but they are much lighter. As such, I feel jumping into this book was really refreshing as I didn’t ever feel lost or confused as to what was going on. I was immediately hooked and stayed hooked throughout the book.

I just loved this story. I very much love stories with high stakes and a team getting together to pull off something that looks and feels to be impossible. This really was such a satisfying telling of this trope. It was so intense and I just had to keep going to know what was going to happen!

The characters in this are so charismatic and so likable. There weren’t any characters that bothered me, or that I dreaded having the focus switch to them. I enjoyed every single POV, every single focus character.

The foreshadowing in this book was done so well. Especially at the end, there is one particular part that as I was reading it, saw exactly how it was foreshadowed earlier in the book and I got the biggest smile!

I really don’t have any criticisms for this book. I would highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy a good heist story.

Apparently reading some reviews The Lies of Locke Lamora is slow, I don't agree with that, I think its masterful and the build up means you know the characters more and I think that hits you harder when some bad things happen to them.

Of course reading this book creates problems its another series that fans are waiting on, Im fortunate that Ive got two more books to read before I think I join the queue of people shouting "We Want more" I dont think the next two books are gonna change that. Because seemingly the next novel moves on to another location it could be read as a standalone but I dont think many people will stop there.

Lots of language (primarily f-words) which was unexpected (being fantasy) and very disappointing. I'm fine with some language every now and again, but I am trying to be more selective about what I tolerate in my reading and the benefits did not outweigh the "risks" in this case. While the story started out engaging, it had begun to drag and I became more and more bothered by the language (mostly because it felt completely unnecessary). Really a bummer.
