The fun, engaging, climatic conclusion to Riordan's first series. It is fantastically paced, the characters are lovable, and Riordan manages to follow through on all of his promises. That being said, there are a couple of movements that just feel awkward. Namely, the bestowing of honors following the battle. Percy is perfect and what he asks of the makes sense for both his character and the overall themes of the series. Everyone else? There is something forced about the exchange. Not that they aren't deserving but how it is framed and the shear coincidence of some of it just lands wrong. This is the falling action and does very little to actually affect my opinion of the book or series as a whole but it bugs me.

AHHHHH I LOVED IT !!!!! it was chaotic and funny as hell, also i cried so many times, everything is super well crafted, the setting (bro it was genius what they did with the mortals before the battle), the complexity of the characters, and ahhh god the conflict. Ngl at points i was like mmm Luke is right bc is just so well made!!!! like i said i loved it, I still feel weird about the kiss kiss fall in love subject but that is MY PROBLEM OK?! anyway now i’ll have pjo worms in my brain and in my heart forever <3
