Surprisingly moving conclusion to this series. Maybe 5 stars is generous, but lately, I have been so underwhelmed by books I thought I would love that I want to give Riordan credit for wrapping up his story in a way that is satisfying and—despite the fact this is a mythological story—realistic. And speaking of Riordan, in a time when a certain author is making readers question their devotion to the magical stories they grew up reading, he and his writing hold up nicely.

This was my least favorite of the five books. I listened to all of them and really liked the reader- good voices. I thought the ending was a bit tidy, but it is a book for middle school kids. I suppose they deserve tidy here and there. Percy again overcomes incredible obstacles- he's always true to his friends and his loyalty to Olympus. I like the message implied. I was hoping there would be a better twist to explain Rachel E. Dare. Series is over- not sad.
