There were some fresh twists on major plot points but the writing was too much telling and not enough showing.

DID NOT FINISH

Loved the idea but apparently, I'm a little allergic to Jane Austen's style (don't throw your books at me) and this was too goody two shoes for me.

This book has so much potential!!!! I love Pride and Prejudice and was looking forward to the retelling. That said, by the last 100 pages, nearly all trace of the original story is fine. Tessa is framed like a Lydia like character only to gradually fade from the book and for Dia to get the only Lydia storyline.
The characters got together a bit too early in my opinion. I normally enjoy fluff and scenes where they just get to be happy but it did interfere a lot with the central storyline. Would have really liked to see a full on rejected romantic confession from Will as well. I would have enjoyed more of the angst that came with Austen’s work. I really wish they would have played up enemies to lovers more.
That said, the book was very lighthearted and a good palette cleanser from reading some heavier works recently. I got through it in about 24 hours, with maybe 3.5 hours of reading time. If you really like fluff and slice of life, definitely check this book out! If not, this probably isn’t the book for you.

I enjoyed how this Pride and Prejudice retelling focused on the concept of sisterhood and what it means in today’s world. The author chose to pick some but not all of the main plot points of the original and I liked her modern interpretation of each issue.
