This is the last book I will purposefully read about true crime. I started it before I understood the true exploitative nature of true crime, especially in connection with murder.
I did not enjoy this book, and I will be donating as soon as I can.

This author has an incredibly high opinion of his own abilities...and a woeful inability to structure a narrative. Too disjointed to really appreciate the points he was trying to make.
I stopped reading it after page 76. I ALWAYS finish books. This is the section where he is discussing Oscar Postorious and the killing of Reeva. He states that he shot her after an argument. This has never been proven and anybody expecting a book to be taken seriously, of this king, should remain neutral and factual.
That aside, I got tired of the plugging of his other books and as another reviewer stated, all of this stuff can be found on Wikipedia which is no good thing. I wanted so much more for this book, it could have been great but I just didn't get anything from it which is a rarity. Some parts are interesting but it makes me wonder what else in the book is untrue. If I wanted opinions I would read the Daily Mail comments section (which I avoid like the plague)
Real shame.

Berry-Dee spends most of the book bragging about his ability to get criminals to open up and discussing his other publications, but doesn’t actually delve into the criminals or their psychology.
It is an interesting idea but not well written or well executed. The content doesn’t match the title and it feels like the author is rambling at points.
Also it would have been nice to have references to stuff he mentions that backs him up (e.g. the line ‘the FBI would agree with this’ has no reference or evidence behind it)
