I am a huge fan of Abby Jimenez’s work in general but I really could not handle how mediocre the writing was in this one. I could have loved the characters, there was definite potential and I loved the idea of the book but their POVs felt so juvenile, like something a teenager would write in their diary.

Another solid book by Jimenez. I loved that the guy was a vet, but kind of wish Samantha’s job had been more substantive, even if she happened to be very good at social media marketing. The love story felt relatable and realistic, not over the top. And it had just the right amount of steaminess without getting into pornography-level sex scenes like the last book I read. The conflict was more realistic than in many of these books these days. And as someone with a grandparent who had dementia, I thought she captured well the daily struggles that diagnosis entails for the patient and their family.

Sorry, just not for me. Found a lot of the pop culture references cringe. Lots of logistics. I did like the main couple and the realistic life circumstances that caused the drama. I felt like the family members could have been more deeply fleshed out. That said, it was a fun, easy read.

This book made me FEEL THINGS. I mean, a broody, hot vet that looks like Rhysand? Give me 10.
