I definitely loved this sequel, but it did fall a little short of the first book. The sassy conversation that makes Hiro and Maddox such a fun couple can feel a little too much at times here, and it might be an odd comment, but there were just too many ghosts. The couple basically never had alone time without one (or usually more) ghosts joining the party and it felt crowded at times. And it might be an unpopular opinion, but Reggie and Natalie’s byplay became repetitive and at times a little annoying.
That’s not to say I didn’t love this book though, the plot was nearly as good as the first book and really kept me hooked. And I’m definitely eagerly awaiting more.
