The Society of Shame is about a politician’s wife who comes home one night to find her garage on fire, her husband in his underwear and a twenty-something young lady with him. A picture is taken of the scene and the only thing anyone wants to talk about the next day is that she has her period and has bleed through her pants. How infuriating. The story takes us with her as she tries to tackle going viral and trying to make everyone like her in a time where that is literally impossible.

It started really well, and the premise was great. Then it just got heavy-handed with the spiraling ways social media goes sideways and every movement eats its own.

It could have been very insightful and funny. Instead it was heavy handed. Good writing though!
