This was such a good ending.
It wasn't as nail biting towards the end and was a pretty low intense book for most of it aside from the beginning.

Keine wirkliche Verbesserung gegenüber dem ersten Band. Kann aber trotzdem irgendwie nicht aufhören zu lesen. Rachel hat so gut wie gar kein Rückgrat.

This book picked up right as the previous one left off. Rachel was on her way to see Malcolm for the first time in a month, after his discovery that she was tasked with writing an exposé on him. She's nervous about what he wants to see her for, so the story begins on a hopeful but angst filled note. As the two main characters begin to see each other more and more, the playfulness and the romance starts to build again.
I was just as hopeful as Rachel when I began this book, because it wasn't completely obvious where the author was going with the story. It seemed obvious that Rachel and Malcolm would get together, but I couldn't be certain by what path they would take to find their happy place with one another.
As it turns out, this book was really good at being realistic. Rachel actually got a chance to prove that she learned her lesson and that she cares about their relationship. All while they both learn if they can trust one another and go the distance in their relationship. Malcolm was already betrayed once by her, and she isn't sure she's enough for a man who previously led a much more promiscuous life. And that was really the big conflict in the story. It was all about them learning to have faith and be happy. It was very realistic in that it didn't require some dramatic episode to push the characters into realizing what they feel. It was a much more natural and healthy transition. It made me have more belief in the characters and their future together. I will also admit, that without that dramatic episode, this book was a little more lackluster and less exciting and intriguing. So on one hand I praise the realism and strength in this book, but I can't say I enjoyed it as much as other similar books with bigger conflicts.
The book also seemed to leave the door wide open for another book from this series, but featuring Tahoe and Gina. It seems like that book has potential, but I'm not so sure if I'll read it. Gina is a bit of a hot-head and has an intense lack of trust in men, so I think she will be a belligerent heroine, and those aren't my favorite to read about. I'll just have to look at the reviews if that book does get published.

I did contemplate not bothering continuing with this or the series but I'm not feeling great today and wanted something I could skim through if need be. This was a tad better than the first book, probably because it was shorter and I think a LOT to do with my expectations being set by the first book. The first quarter of the book taken up by the h grovelling and that was quite interesting...it then seemed to waffle its way to an HEA. Thank god the h didn't irritate me quite so much but the over the top constant lusting for the hot H *yawn*.
I'm not going to continue with this series, well maybe try the next novella which is supposed to be the HEA after the HEA but NO more than that. This is a classic example of how something which could have made a decent one book read becomes a faffing hell when stretched out over two.

2 stars. I am filled with such disappointment right now. Not sure how this went so wrong from the first book but it did.
Positives first, since there are very few, but I still like Evans' writing style. It's a breeze to get through and I like the way she does her dialogue. Second thing Iliked loved was of course Malcom Kyle Preston Logan Saint because he is everything! Easily the best part of this story and it's been an entire year since I've read the first book but I fell right back in love with his character all over again.
Everything else didn't work for me. I still very much cannot stand Rachel. She's weird and very immature and I swear she referred to her fucking vagina as her 'sexy place' so much that it made me angry. Like, what grown ass woman talks like that?? She was insufferable to read from and I feel like this series would've benefited so much from being from both of their p.o.v's just to have a break from Rachel. On top of that she's crazy insecure. She kept pointing out all of the women he's slept with and comparing herself to them for whatever dumbass reason and I just wanted to smack her. She never really grows out of that either, she's just insecure and childish until the end. Yippee.
There were no repercussions for the ending of the last book. None. So that was a bit of a waste because I was expecting some huge blow out but nope, he offers her a job at his company and they have sex a lot. Yay.
Also, this was really, really boring to read. It was short but still it was a pain to get through because nothing of importance happens until like the last 50 or so pages.
Overall, this was a huge disappointment and I hate that such a great character like Saint was wasted like this. He deserves better, dammit!

Manwhore+1
Off the charts steamy! Ugh my heart may have broken a little when Michael Saint and Rachel Livingston broke up after the viper that will be forever known as Victoria wrote her expose before the expose.
This was another great story by the lovely Katy Evans, so far every book that she has written I have really liked. They are steamy, but filled with a great story.
