Imagine being so pretty everyone’s initial reaction to you is to offer marriage…including members of the church.

Plot was predictable and the female character was dumb! Oh let me make him fall in love with me so I can have my revenge. Bitch, you grab a gun and have revenge with a bullet in his head!

I like the idea of the plot. I was bored though. It was so hard to pick up this book.

I did really enjoy this one! I loved the hidden identity, revenge plot and saw the purpose of him loving her beyond her beauty. The ending felt a little unsatisfying and I definitely missed having an epilogue. I also found this almost completely fade to black, which was also a bit unsatisfying. However the story was well done and I love Sherry Thomas’ writing. There was also too many parts of the book that were introducing the other characters’ future stories and it took me out - I wanted to just get back to the main story!

I honestly just wasn't a fan of the premise at all, but gave it an extra star because I do enjoy her prose and I'm a sucker for her family stuff. Otherwise I felt it is was the weakest one I've read in the series so far.

Sherry Thomas "lite" -- far shorter than her previous books, and far less beautifully written. Without the depth of characterization a longer book permits, and the pleasures engaging prose adds, this new Thomas novel does not rise to the delicious heights of her previous work. Too bad the pressure to put out novels quickly led Thomas to write a far less accomplished book.
Inspired by Judith Ivory's BEAST -- go and read Ivory's book, it's far more compelling.
