This is one of the top books I’ve ever read. It’s giving Hunger Games undertones, but FAR exceeds anything I’ve read to-date. If you’re not a fantasy lover, Yarros will change your mind … and life.

Did not personally enjoy the audiobook (I just don’t really love audiobooks tbh) but it is well done!! Not the most interesting for the first 50%, a lot of clunky world building. Next 25-30% is gradually getting better, and then the last chunk is edge-of-your-seat. I cried and definitely had my jaw on the floor by the end!

The writing in this book is pretty good. I quite liked that part.

But the characters feel flat and dull and the plot is so cliche, and I understand that’s not an issue for everyone but it is for me.

But I’m probably not the target audience, and I know a lot of people love this book!
