It’s no literary masterpiece and the “breadcrumbs” to the plot twists are shockingly obvious but it’s an entertaining and enjoyable read. Very cliche in many ways and world is barely built but I am hoping book too gives us more details. Violet is fun though her medical condition is never explained well and often doesn’t make sense. Xaden is so clearly a photocopy of every other “rebellious dark haired love interest” very in the veins of Castile from FBAA and Rysand from ACOTAR. The dragons were my favorite part with their dry humor

That was not the ending!!! That could not be the ending. Omg talk about ending on a freaking cliff hanger. So rude. I was really hesitant to read this book, especially since everyone was raving about it. Generally, those books don’t live up to the hype. This one ABSOLUTELY did. I was pleasantly surprised by how obsessed with this book I became. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what would come next. I couldn’t predict a lot of what happened, and at this point, that’s hard to do. As amazing as the plot and spice is, which was tasteful, it was the vast of characters that drew me in. Violet is one of the best main characters I’ve ever read. She felt so real and truly leapt of the page, and you can’t not love Xaden either. It was the side characters like Rhi and Liam that really made me love it. Honestly, I just loved it all. Now for the tortuous wait for the sequel.
