This book was not for me - some of her internal musings/ruminations were interesting- particularly in regards to society seeing women as mothers and diminishing those who are not- but overall it was lacking for me.
A book that talks about everything , but also nothing, related to the decision to have (or not to have) children. I picked this book up because I myself have gone through the process of decision-making and wanted to see how it goes for the author. It was a very real and honest account of the author going through the motions. But it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Perhaps I liked it because it told me exactly what I wanted to hear? I would recommend it to every woman who is making the decision on whether or not to have kids, but be forewarned -- if you haven't thought much of it, and particularly if you are on the fence, this may not be your cup of tea because it will make you face some very hard truths.
This was so repetitive and I found the writer to be so self-absorbed it was just all too much. Possibly how I might have been before I had children

An excellent read - like reading someone’s journal as they process what it means to be a mother over many years.
Moc se mi líbilo, že to více než řešení pouze a jedině mateřství působilo jako obecné zamyšlení se nad životem a jeho postupem, přičemž autorka využívá mincí a roli náhody a dalších rozhovorů s lidmi, aby došla k odpovědím, na které není “zvyklá” a vyhnula se tomu, že něco bude považovat za samozřejmost.
Kromě rozhodnutí, zda mít, či nemít dítě otevírá další tabuizovaná témata — partnerský život, potíže spojené s PMS, ale i mezigenerační trauma. Kniha však místy mohla působit repetitivně, a byť rozumím tomu, že to vypovídá o autenticitě daných úvah, mrzelo mě, že v některých otázkách nešla trochu hlouběji. Přesto však mohu pro zajímavé úvahy a podněty doporučit.
