I loved this book, I couldn't put it down. It's one of his best. I like that it wasn't a horror but more of something that could really happen. The character left a imprint.

Aww man, why do I read the most heart-wrenching books in the middle of summer? Last year I read Flowers for Algernon and cried my eyes out. I know The Green Mile was going to be hard; most of King's books are bittersweet at best. He's even better at pulling heartstrings than he is getting your adrenaline going. This book, however, is devastation from beginning to end. I was itching to watch the movie but I think it's going to be quite a while before I actually can. This book is a fucking masterpiece. A masterpiece. I can't even say much else.

This has probably become by favorite Stephen King book! I will admit I have already watched and loved the movie, but that only made reading the book so much better to give images to the characters.

What a book - another Stephen King novel that is better than the film, and the film itself is brilliant. I enjoyed how this book was relatively slow and didn't rush at all but still felt tense and well paced. A beautiful and gripping story that I devoured.

Vraiment.

This book is the ultimate proof that I do not hate Stephen King, like my last review could lead to believe. Because this book (and the adaptation) belong to my favourite stories. It is a beautiful book, so strong, written with a lot of softness and humanity. It is a very touching (I already read it like 4 or 5 times, and it is the first time that I do not have tears in my eyes finishing it).

Read it. Watch the movie, it’s a good adaptation. Really.

Broke my heart to pieces. But the story was very inspirational. So full of hope... and life.

Every Stephen King book longer than 400 pages has this thing where it starts and you wonder if it’s going to be any good but then the ending destroys you and you realize it was good the whole time
