This book was somewhat hard to read knowing how it would end but it did not disappoint. It truly captures the kind of person Adena was, it made how Paedyn felt losing her harder knowing more about her. The whole book there was like little foreshadowing to what happens which made it sadder knowing her outcome. Knowing Mak lived though makes me wonder if he’ll help Paedyn in book 2, which I think he will.

Despite this novella not really adding much to the original book (Powerless) other than

how Adena ended up at the center of the final trial as the sacrifice

, it was still an interesting read and see how Adena's character influenced Paedyn's.

I'm hoping Makoto will be added into the rest of the series because I think that would be a really great idea, especially considering the circumstances that happen at the end of Powerless/Powerful. I think he could actually add a lot to the plot that continues the series.

As for the first book of the serie, I’m not a fan of the way it’s written. But I am fan of the twists and the characters. I knew what would happen, but deep down I kept hoping that somehow what happened in the first book didnt happen for real (and even though it still happened AGAIN, I will keep hope, leave me alone). I can’t wait to read the sequel!!!
