A fascinating look from ‘the other side’ if you’ve ever wondered what they’re thinking…

I’ve listened to the radio series a while back, picked this up not realising this is pretty much the same thing which may have marred my opinion. It was fine, informative and interesting to a point.

I really connected with some parts of the book such as when the "clients" had similar presenting issues to my clients, or when I related to Susie's thoughts. However, finding out the conversations were not authentic was hugely disappointing. I struggled to engage as I had the thought "this isn't real" in the back of my mind.

Interesting rather than fascinating.
Best bit -the line 'If you are heard, you can hear yourself.'

This book gives a great insight to the world of therapy. Showing that people from a wide range of backgrounds and problems seek help, and receive that help in a lovely manner.
I was able to pull skills away from this book, with looking beyond the surface with your actions and emotions.
A great read.

I really didn't like this book.
And quite frankly I don´t see the point of this or how this would be helpful
to anyone since it is fictional and based on improv.
I have never been to therapy and don´t know much about
it but to me Susie seemed very suggestive and almost put
words / explanations into the patients mouth.
Like I said I don´t know anything about therapy but I was always under
the impression that you were supposed to figure things out yourself
and not have someone else tell you what´s wrong with you straight up
or what you are feeling and why.
She just didn't seem very helpful to me and in the case of Jo actually
quite damaging.
