Mostly really great info. I strongly believe you have todo what works for your kid (and for mine, it included scheduled potty time and rewards on day 1) but many of the principles of this method were great. Being naked on day one was key for us so I could see her signs of needing to use the bathroom quicker and get her to the potty to finish when she started to have an accident. This was absolutely key at first. I also love the underlying belief that a kid is never truly “ready” but rather capable. I knew my two year old was capable so I jumped in and it went great! Great read with great info - just be willing to adjust the method for your individual kid.

3 stars because she's rather sanctimonious.

Seems like mostly solid advice, but the "lol dads" tone gets a little grating.

Another how to book, that while it sounds great in theory, just did not work for us in practice

Crass and lacking any tact whatsoever. A little annoying how she addressed the book to moms and spoke as if it would be a huge accomplishment for a dad to be just a little supportive (even if she gave a small pat on the back to any dads who are actually involved in the process). But the method was solid and I can't argue with that. 3.5 stars rounded up for effectiveness.

There is a lot of good direction in here, but woah there is a ton of fear-mongering. In retrospect, I should have waited.

2.5 stars. 4 stars for the actual method itself and the clear steps. 1 star for the judgmental BS, wacky theories about child behaviour, and the cultlike "if it's not working, it's not the method - it's YOU." We did Oh Crap for 5 days and it was clear my 2-year-old had learned what the potty was for and how to recognize when she needed to pee. However, she was still frequently choosing to pee everywhere and it was NOT A FUN TIME. Switched to having her in diapers and taking them off when she says she needs to pee and she has been doing more and more in the potty every day with way less stress...
