highly recommend the audiobook, the cast that voiced all the characters did a great job and the format mixing the podcast with sadie's narration was really well-done.

Okay, so this was supposed to be a hard-hitting book but trust me, I didn't like Sadie at all. But kudos for making the FBI look like a fool compared to a reporter.

Quick listen. I enjoyed the narration a lot. It switches between Sadie and an investigator. Gave the story great depth! However the story just never got there for me.

This book was riveting and mostly well done but only 4 stars for a few reasons. I listened to the audiobook which was really great but for one small thing: all the small town Colorado people had southern accents. Colorado has its "down on their luck" towns but people here don't have southern accents. Second, all this absurd driving. Colorado is a big state but you can get from one end to another in a day. Do I remember right that at one point she mentions a five day drive? In five days from anywhere in Colorado you could be in Miami! Small details like this pulled me out of the story and make me question the editing. Ultimately, though, the story and characters are compelling and this was a sad, but great, book.
