This book romanticises extremely toxic relationships and endorses women staying with toxic because they can “change him” which so extremely gross. The characters have no personality whatsoever and even the so-called plot twist was very predictable.

Like a hallmark movie in book form, predictable yet somewhat entertaining. The writing style leaves lots to be desired.

 < spoiler> Lots of unnecessary sex <spoilers>
I felt bored reading the book, it didn’t grab my attention. Nor was I a fan of Tate being emotionally used by Miles. There was no growth between the two characters. The growth didn’t happen throughout the story either.

First I will start with what I liked about this book. I enjoyed that we were able to read from miles' perspective as well as tate's. I enjoyed learning more about miles past. As I learned more about who he was I started to enjoy his character far more than hers. Everytime I read through tates perspective I wanted to throw a brick in her face because she kept reading too much into Miles simple facial expressions and body language. Tate also kept throwing herself at Miles without even knowing who he is. There was so many moments where i thought, “girl where is your self worth you are an idiot.” especially that scene when he called her rachel and she kept going.  She was a total pushover and should have walked away. She was “madly in love” with a guy she didnt know. Aside from that, I felt heavily for miles when I understood the meaning of the cover. I feel as if Miles journey into healing from his traumatic past is what saved this book for me. In terms of “contemporary romance” this pairing seemed very toxic.
