I feel this is a very well researched and written book. Lownie has looked at all sides and pulled research from multiple sources to form a picture of the couple that makes us wonder what would have happened if Edward hadn't abdicated. The evidence from the recovered German WW2 files is especially interesting and disturbing.

He rocked the world when he abdicated the throne to be with his twice divorced American socialite lover. The couple were Nazi sympathizers, which goes to show you what kind of people they were morally.
I have the audible version of this book, which I bought because it had some new information from the FOIA and other sources. If you are looking for a comprehensive book about this couple, this is a good one. Andrew Morton also has one about their Nazi activities as well. I can see why neither of them were well liked by other people.
