A historically perspective of the abdication of King Edward to marry Wallis Simpson. The book is a historical review of the events that occurred prior, during and after WWII
Turns out being cruel is generational and Harry's treatment by his father makes more now after reading this book.

The information is very interesting but there are times when it felt like a book report. If the topic is interesting to you, it's definitely worth your time. I do not regret reading it at all.
This was really interesting. I learned a lot, though I think it was repetitive in parts.

For anyone who has an interest in the royal family, this book will be a fascinating deep dive into one of the most infamous couples in royal history. For those with no interest, I would recommend a shorter, snappier book than this. I enjoyed this (listened to the audiobook) for the most part and thought it was really great at laying out exactly how deeply intertwined with Nazi commanders and how much of Nazi sympathizers Edward and Wallis actually were.
The middle of the book, unfortunately, was as boring as this royal couple seemed to be for most of their lives. Countless stories of dinner parties and what people at those parties thought of both Edward and Wallis got exhausting and seemed a bit overdone and pointless.
Something that was very interesting for me was the evidence that this was not the greatest love story of the century but instead a rather toxic married wherein both parties were trapped for different reasons. A fascinating hypothesis with good evidence presented.
Overall, a good read for those already interested in the subject matter.
