Cute! Was unsure about the whole "trapped in a time loop" thing, but really enjoyed once I got into it!
Came for the time loop (recommended as a time travel book), enjoyed the cozy escape as a book palate cleanser. Nearly gave up when the protagonist had never heard of Groundhog Day (!!). Cute enough but very predictable and all but abandons it's central construct pretty fast. Suddenly I want an old cabin in snowy Utah though.
How cute!! I hated the movie Groundhog Day so I was wary going into this, but, as always, Christina Lauren blew me away
A quick easy holiday read. A little confusing in premise but still cute.
It has been a while since I read a book that I disliked so much. I really don’t even know where to start on how this book totally missed the mark.
First, there are way too many characters. I read most of this book in one day and toward the end I still found myself having to pause to remember who is who when a name appeared on the page (other than the primary characters of course).
Second, the time travel part made absolutely no sense. Upon reflection I think they tried to explain what was behind it, but it was very week and unsatisfying and definitely needed more fleshing out.
Third, I just didn’t love the main characters. Andrew was way too perfect. I’ve never seen a leading male character in a romance novel who is that flawless. Also, the plot is supposed to involve two brothers according to the back cover, but you barely ever hear about one of the brothers in the story. I also thought Mae was a little annoying. Maybe it wasn’t even her as much as the plot that annoyed me, and so that projected onto her as the main character. I will say though that some of the characters actions toward the end of the story were really implausible and strange to me.
Really, this book was so disjointed and made no sense. It was all over the place. Disappointment is an understatement. The only reason I picked this up is because I wanted something fun to read for the holidays, but honestly, I would have been better off reading some nonfiction or a serious fiction novel.
