I have mixed feelings about this book. The story and the characters were awesome but the writing and storytelling was a bit boring and simply flat.

This story about a psychic and his new partner/boyfriend/anchor was unique and funny. The mystery inside was well built and had some twists that made it exciting.

What I didn't like was the storytelling. It was too simole not diving into details of the mystery, adding okotlines that were wholly unnecessary and not saying enough on the relationship and its development. Up until the very end I debated not finishing but the myster pulled me through and I am glad I read it. Though I don't think I will pick up the next book.

Downright ridiculous is an apt way to describe this story. The writing isn't bad, and it was certainly enough to keep me reading. But the plot itself just made me scratch my head and wonder why I was reading. Some of the descriptions bordered on purple, so if that's not your thing--maybe steer clear.

Easy to read, exciting, brilliant world-building.
A perfect, lazy day read.

This was a very fun read. It was much lighter than I expected. I'll definitely continue the series.

I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I really liked this book. It was lightheaded, and even when the reader wasn't sure what was going on with the plot, the reader was still always confident that everything would work out. Plot-wise, I'm not a fan of the ultimate solution, but I'm choosing to ignore that in favour of the fact that this is a fiction and a paranormal to boot.

Also, shout out to Kenneth Obi for a great narration. I noticed at one point he added a chuckle which wasn't in the text, but it was really well placed.
