I am not sure how I feel about this book. I feel like it ends leaving us right back at the end of book 1, I was bored for the first 60%. The characters keep making the same mistakes over and over. The only character I enjoyed was Nyxaris and Neville.
I thought the addition of Florence POV was useless.
We basically learned nothing in this book.
I will read book 3 to see how it ends but that was a disappointing sequel for me.

I still like the overall concept of this book and am curious to see where it's going.
That enemies to almost lovers, back to enemies, now to frenemies with benefits? No thank you. For me personally, a person's personality affects how I perceive them. They could be the hottest person on earth, but if they're a dick and a bully then I have zero attraction to them. So I just can't get into that attraction that Medra feels for Blake despite hating him. And yes, Blake did change for the better, eventually, but it's was WAY TOO LATE in my books. I just can't get on board with their"romance". I get that they're most likely end game, but it does absolutely nothing for me.

This was a perfect second book in the series, that I’ve grown to be absolutely obsessed with. The characters in this book especially Medra have grown so much and we get to see more of the world building that Briar is so wonderful at! I wish this book didn’t end because I feel I read it all in one day ( I 100% did ) and I just want more. I’m excited to see where book 3 brings us!
