The second in the Bloodwing Academy series is compelling and well-paced. 
I really enjoyed scenes with Neville! He is my favorite in the series!
I really enjoyed Medra's & Nyxaris bonding times.
The choices that main characters did was.... I hope they will learn from their mistakes!
Now Blake can shift to a dragon????
Florence is going to survive???? and become a bada** dragon rider????
Briar!!! you can't leave us hanging like that!!! we need book three ASAP!!!

Wow, the world-building in The Bond That Burns continues to grow richer and more complex, especially with the intricate dynamics between dragons, highbloods, and dragon riders. While I enjoyed the story, I really wanted more of Blake, and I was relieved that his bullying didn’t drag on for too long. However, some of the decisions both Blake and Medra make weren’t exactly what I hoped for. Still, the political intrigue and deeper understanding of family motivations kept me hooked. Can’t wait for book 3!

In my opinion, this one is better than Book 1 in this series and now I have to wait for over 8 months for the next book in the series. I gobbled this up. It was fast paced, action packed and a dual narratives with a third narrative thrown in toward the end.  I assume that the third book in this series will have a lot more of Frances' POV and lots of dragons. There was a lot of character growth and less bullying from the MMC which I enjoyed and suited the story progress. 
I will definitely be continuing the series.
