i’m conflicted. from one hand, i liked the concept and the characters and the smut. but from the other hand, some moments , actions from the guys towards the fmc were unforgivable and too cruel even for this kind of books.

yum.
“I fucking love the sounds that come from a man as I’m slitting his throat. Juicy, watery, a garbled last plea to let them live, as if it’ll save them.”

she just graduated high school. i thought fmc would be older.

didn’t appreciate how they touched her sexuality when she was paralyzed and couldn’t give consent. and how they put her in the closed cell with her rapist - the fucking audacity then to tell her that “it was for her own good”.

so i fully supported the fmc when she decided to kill them but i wish she didn’t backtrack at the end and stuck to the plan.

Fantastic story! If I were Harlow I would probably be more of a snippy brat, but I have zero regard for my own safety!

This is one of those books where you really enjoy the story and you’re left wanting more because you know the next book is going to be even better. Thank god we the next book is only a few weeks away because we are left with a brutal cliffhanger and lots of tension between the FMC and the guys.

One of my favorite parts about the book was the back story of how the lords came to be but I hope we get to dive more into the guy’s individual backstories in the next book.

We don’t get a lot of spice in this first book but I know when they finally come together it’s going to be explosive! I’ll definitely be counting down the days until we get book 2!

You won’t be able to fucking put it down!  I read this in two days. Just mind the trigger warnings. This is Avery dark book.

Four British aristocrats in a secret society need to initiate a new member, but her fragile mental state could be a liability to the group and they're torn between protecting her and making her overcome her fears.

Was hoping I'd like this more but it didn't really work for me. The most interesting bit was Harlow's past trauma and how hard she'd worked to overcome it, but the fear still casts a shadow over her daily life. The four guys didn't have especially distinct personalities, and I'd often forget whose POV I was in while reading. I was prepared to suspend a lot of disbelief for their secret society backstory but the book still asked too much of me. Overall it just felt like there was a lot more potential for tension, conflict and chemistry but it didn't come together in a satisfying way. Not reading book 2.

RH; FMC and (4) MMC
Read trigger/content warnings - for sure dark in comparison to others. Ends on cliff hanger.

Plot was mid but let’s be real this was not read for the storyline at alllll

Also, love the FMC - badass with anxiety and frequent panic attacks. slayyyy

PLEASE READ TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING THIS BOOK

Lords of darkness it’s one hell of a book. I love everything about this book and even the cliffhanger it ends with. I know this style of book it’s one one of my favorites. It has all of the tropes I love, the anger, the suffering, the strength, everything. The MCs are great each with their own personalities and I love that I can’t choose between the MMCs because I love them all. I love the FMC even though she’s just 18 the mentality she has it’s not one of an 18 year old and I love that about this story, it didn’t feel like she was that age and for my preference I like that. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book when I finish it and definitely started the second right away. I could definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a RH, with enemies to lovers and strong FMC. I will be reading this book again.
