Okay… I really liked this. It was weird as hell, and the ending only left me more confused, but I loved the anger inside this mother and could somehow relate - even though I have never been in a situation like her. This book is a feminist statement, each page filled to the brim with female rage, that gets described best with the same words they used to market the movie: A funny story for women but a horror story for men.

I love the extended metaphor of unpaid and unappreciated labor (motherhood) turning into a dog and finding fulfillment in her life. This is the weirdest and best thing I’ve ever read. I think it’s perfect.
