this book was so weird and while it wasn’t exactly a nail biting page turner i loved the themes and i loved how odd and gross it was. It was a gruesome and beautiful protrayal of motherhood.

I’m between. 3 and a 4 - maybe a 3.5. The beginning of the book sucked me in, but it got weirder and slower - although I did get kind of invested. It felt kind of experimental and definitely evoked curiosity and even a little horror, at times. I want to see the movie just to see how it was envisioned.

Auch wenn ich die Message, die das Buch herüberbringen wollte, durchaus mochte, hat mir die Umsetzung leider nicht sonderlich zugesagt. Für mich war von Anfang an klar, worauf die Geschichte hinauslaufen möchte, jedoch habe ich trotzdem auf das Gewisse etwas gewartet, das einfach nicht kam. Stattdessen ging die Handlung ziemlich lange gar nicht voran und das, obwohl das Buch relativ wenige Seiten hat. Also zusammenfassend: spannende Idee, ausbaufähige Umsetzung. 2,5 Sterne von mir.
