If you are a mom, you will relate to our main character, only titled “Nightbitch” in the story. I found myself talking to her in my head multiple times when reading something I completely related to as a mom of young children. “Yes!” “I’ve been there.” “Ugh so true.”
Enjoyable, honest read.

The writing isn't my style and the storyline is just meh.

I really enjoyed this book! It follows a struggling mother who is spiralling into, essentially... psychosis, believing that she is slowly transforming into a dog.
What follows is an absolutely insane exploration of what it means to be a mother - especially in such a critical modern world - and the need to return to our baser, animal instincts as women in a world not made for us.
The only thing I didn't like was the self-actualisation at the end - as another reviewer mentioned, I prefer a very messy ending! I would have been happy leaving this book with ambiguity towards the Mother's true ending. However, I understand the points being made in framing the ending in such a way.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this book as a part of any female rage reading list, or to any 'weird girl fiction' lovers.

Tough one to rate, very trippy. I found the writing style really gripping and easy to read. Despite how wacky the events of the book are I found all the characters really believable and understood and rooted for them
