David Lynch would love this.
definitely one of the weirdest books I have read - a mom is going through postpartum depression, anxiety, and I full blown identity crisis. in the throws of it she feels like she is turning into a dog and fully embraces the lifestyle and includes her 2 year old son.
delightfully weird - I haven't read a book this fever-dreamy since bunny. I think I saw they are making this into a movie and I am intrigued.
bunny x twin peaks x midsommar in my opinion

this was fun but also so horrifying that it gave me nightmares twice. motherhood is not for the weak and please communicate w ur partner so that u don't go crazy and turn into a dog
Honestly, I saw the movie and was intrigued. I felt like the movie was a little slow and dull but the premise interested me. So I picked up the book.
The movie is better imo.
Where the movie drags the book is like pulling yourself inch by inch through mud. Where the movie is a little dull the book is mind numbing.
The main character has anger and passion and drive. But absolutely none of that can be felt. I suppose the main theme is that she’s tired. I guess that came through fine.

Intriguing not-so-subtle commentary on motherhood. A mother--unnamed--is turning into a dog, who is named (Nightbitch). The mother struggles parenting her toddler, feeling resentment about giving up her career, and longing to go back and make art. A little heavy handed at times, but a wonderful addition to the canon of literature of the struggle and misery of being a mother.
(3.5) at the start i wasn't in the mood for it so I put the book away for a month then I picked it back up again and enjoyed it more
