This book was so incredibly raw and real. Being someone who has struggled with accepting and managing mental health needs, I connected so much with Yasmen. Obviously our experiences were different in so many ways. But the feeling of regret and learning to voice your needs and desires was shared so well in this book. I also loved the dual POV and seeing Josiah go through his own healing journey. Definitely check trigger warnings for pregnancy trauma, depression, and divorce. But, if you are able, I would recommend this book to the moon and back.

Giving this book 5 stars is as easy as breathing. Kennedy Ryan has a way of giving you the most emotional, gut-wrenching love story in a way that feels absolutely effortless. Such intense feelings and subjects and yet you can’t help but fall over and over. I was on edge and frustrated and yet I felt immense privilege watching these two fall back in love with each other. Before I Let Go is going to stay with me for a long long time.

This book was so profound.  I loved the deep dive into mental wellness, therapy and how delicately bit meaningfully Kennedy Ryan dealt with it especially in the context of black families and the relationship we have with mental health. This read was so beautiful. Cannot recommend it enough, and I don't even like 2nd chance romance as a trope.

this is my first kennedy ryan book and i literally have no words. the emotions i felt reading this, out of this world. as someone who believes in true love and second chances, this book resonated with me so much.

i didn’t like how deja was treating yasmen though. granted they worked on it towards the end but i think it’s just mean treating your mom that way given the loss she’s been through
