I actually really enjoyed it up until the last couple chapters. The romance seemed to come out of no where, and it wasn't really believable at all. It wasn't developed, barely brought to the readers attention as a possibility. Super disappointing but the story and book in general was very enjoyable.

I liked the story and characters but the writing was just so-so. I gave it 3 stars because of the enjoyment factor. There was just something missing. Also the dialogue was too contemporary and will date this book in about 10 years. Probably won't continue reading the series.

The language was so easy to understand and it was so easy to flow through the pages. The story was interesting and very different from anything I've ever read, but it felt rushed and almost like the author tried quickly to finish the book. The plot was not very exciting but I still was engaged enough to finish reading. I still don't have a a clear image of what Yelena and Valek look like.
