Many thanks to my friends @hankpryan @forgebooks and @macmillan.audio for the #gifted copies of this book.

🍿🍷 Grab some popcorn and pour yourself a glass of red wine, Olivia Pope style.  Ryan is delivering all the fixer vibes in her latest, One Wrong Word.

Words have power.

Joy.  It should be one of the best words.  But crisis manager, Arden Ward has just learned that joy led to her firing.  (Damn jealous spouses.)  She’s one of the best at her firm.  But that isn’t what is important to powerful people.

Not guilty. Ned Banister is finally exonerated.  So why does his life seem stuck in the horror of the accusations?

When Arden is given one last chance to save her reputation while also reforming Ned’s, her skillset is put to the test.

I love a classic fixer storyline.  Fast paced.  Clever.  The need to stay one step ahead.  The ability to shift a perspective.  And this plot delivered!

This was a whirlwind of a twisted ride.  Each time new information was revealed, I altered my theories… constantly on my toes.  And in the end, I appreciated that the clues had been well laid, even the ones I didn’t catch onto, leading to a satisfying ending.

The theme of this book provided an entertaining storyline.  Rumors.  Gossip.  Lies.  But it was also a stark and potent reminder at the power found in words.

I could see this one turned into a series!  I know I would enjoy reading more adventures with Arden and Monelle!

🎧 There’s nothing better than a propulsive audio to get me motivated to clean.  And I can attest to this audiobook being exactly what I needed to get the 30-year-old fridge in my BFF’s new house spic-and-span clean

Wow! This was a crazy ride and I loved it! It kept me guessing as I tried to figure out the twists and what was the truth and who could be trusted.. This was filled with strong female characters trying to navigate the world and words of powerful men.

Arden Ward has put her past behind her and is a successful crisis manager until a client's wife accuses her of something and her career is ended. Except for one last client her boss wants her to help, Cordelia Bannister's husband Ned has just been acquitted of a drunk driving accident that ended in the death of a man. Cordelia is desperate to get life back on track for her family. She wants Arden to convince her husband that he needs the help but tells her not to trust Ned. As Arden works with Ned more questions are raised and she seeks answers from Ned's lawyer and the assistant district attorney on the case. The more questions she asks the more she has and she wonders if anyone is telling the truth. Can Arden figure it out before it becomes too dangerous?

WOW! ONE WRONG WORD is Electrifying! Another stellar psychological thriller winner by Powerhouse (favorite author) Hank Phillippi Ryan, the queen of cat-and-mouse thrillers! Hank DAZZLES.

Fresh, clever, chilling, and INTENSE, ONE WRONG WORD is Hank's best yet!

One WRONG word can ruin your life, and Arden Ward knows this all too well as a savvy crisis PR management expert. However, this time, her challenge is close to home. Words have power, and the wrong words can be devastating.

Unfairly accused of having an affair with a substantial client, her life is about to crash and burn. She is given an ultimatum to save her career and reputation. Is she up for the challenge?

Cordelia Bannister could be the answer to her prayers. She needs her help regarding Ned (her husband), A Boston real estate tycoon. He was recently acquitted in a fatal drunk driving accident, but his reputation is ruined, as well as the entire family and two children.

Arden dives in to help, but soon, things come to light about what happened that night. Then, another crash sends Ned back into the spotlight. Suddenly, the police are again focused on whether he’s innocent—or guilty.

This case is her final chance to save her name and career, but what if she is helping protect a KILLER? Soon, Arden is knee-deep in a mystery with lies, secrets, and DANGER.

Can you say twisty plot, addictive, heart-pounding suspense, and fantastic characters—but of course, this is the mastermind pro, HPR!

Complex and multi-layered, the characters come to life in this wild ride! ONE WRONG WORD is fast-paced and action-packed, so buckle up and keep up —because there is something at every page turn, and you do not want to miss a thing!

It is told from the POVs of three strong women as the story unfolds with a web of deceit, lies, mistrust, money, power, greed, blackmail, manipulation, and SECRETS. You will be on the edge of your seat until the end.

Masterfully crafted, as always, it's an unputdownable cat-and-mouse game, and you never know who to trust with suspects and red herrings keeping you guessing. Prime for the big or small screen!

I read the e-book and listened to the audio narrated by the fabulous Gail Shalan for an outstanding performance and listening experience.

Now, the million-dollar question: will there be a sequel? Arden is super and too good to end, so bring her back! Believe all the Buzz...get this gem on your TBR list now! This will be a bestseller for sure!

All I can say is, wow. I started to see the one suspect but didn't realize the whole scale of the plot. This book was another grab your attention from the start and didn't want it to end. I loved this book and how everything ended.

@hankpryan does a great job writing psychological thriller novels that make you think! Her latest novel, One Wrong Word, explores how words have power and one word can ruin a person’s life. The story is full of lies and rumors. I spent a lot of time while I was listening to the audiobook trying to figure out which characters were unreliable and which ones were telling the truth! I was surprised by the ending and did not see it coming.

I really enjoyed this audiobook and recommend it to readers who enjoy drama filled thrillers full of lies, gossip, and rumors!

Thank you @macmillan.audio for allowing me to listen to this audiobook ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you @forgebooks @netgalley for a copy of this book. I have enjoyed books from the author and this premise sounded interesting. Unfortunately this was a miss for me and I should have DNF it. Once Arden was given an ultimatum about her job, she should have said F this place and sue them for wrongful termination.

There is a lot of misdirection in the story between Ned and Cordelia. I had a hard time understanding why Arden was so dedicated to helping them with repairing their image when she was so upset with her job situation. I was annoyed with all the characters other than Pip who sounded like a cute kid.

Hank Phillippi Ryan's "One Wrong Word" is a four-star page-turner that had me instantly hooked from the first page. The narrative's magnetic pull, coupled with the desire to unravel the mysteries within, made this novel an enthralling and suspenseful experience. A huge thank you to Hank for sending me this advanced copy for me to review!

The story revolves around Arden Ward, a crisis management expert thrust into her own crisis when falsely accused of an affair with a powerful client. As Arden grapples with the impending crash of her career and dreams, readers are drawn into a world of scandal, secrets, and high-stakes consequences. The author's skillful storytelling weaves a tapestry of complexity, leaving me eager to discover the truth behind the accusations and root for Arden in her fight for redemption.

The plot gains momentum as Arden takes on a crucial case involving Cordelia Bannister, a woman seeking Arden's expertise to salvage her husband Ned's reputation after a fatal drunk driving accident. The intricate dynamics between the characters and the well-paced revelations kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to untangle the web of lies surrounding the Bannister family.

Ryan's portrayal of Ned Bannister adds an extra layer of intrigue, and as Arden delves deeper into the case, the mysteries multiply. The narrative skillfully navigates the delicate balance between suspense and emotional depth, making the characters relatable and the plot genuinely engaging.

As a reader, I found myself captivated by the exploration of the power of words, gossip, and the far-reaching consequences of falsehoods. The theme resonates throughout the novel, creating a palpable tension that kept me invested until the final pages. The author's social commentary on reputation management and societal judgment adds depth to the story, making it not only entertaining but also thought-provoking.

"One Wrong Word" is a compelling addition to the suspense genre, and Hank Phillippi Ryan delivers a story that is as addictive as it is thought-provoking. Once I started this book, the mysteries and intricacies of the plot held me captive, making it a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. Ryan's exploration of the impact of "one wrong word" will linger in my mind long after the final page.

A digital copy of this book was provided to me by Thriller Book Lovers Promotions, Tor Publishing and Forge Books.  The opinions are my own and freely given.
The general premise of this book is that Arden works for a PR firm to help smooth out her clients' lives.  She is hired by the wife of a man who was found not guilty of vehicular manslaughter, to help the world realize that he is not guilty and to bring their lives along with their children's lives back to normal before the accident.  There are times you wonder if Ned, the man found not guilty, got away with murder. The DA certainly thinks so.
I for 1 didn't like the wife, Cordelia, and every time she called Arden I was annoyed.  I also didn't like Arden's boss. I felt he was a sleaze.  Arden eventually makes a few allies, as her life is turned 180 and she learns who to trust and who not to trust.
This is the first novel by this author, and I was not disappointed. Can't wait to read more!
