Glorious!

A bit slow and over wrought in places, but full of substance and framed in an ingenious masterwork of world building, this series has joined among my favorites. Dark, beautiful, and very goth.

A nice conclusion to a fantastic trilogy.

It's a solid fantasy series with an interesting premise, but I just didn't connect to it as much as I do with books that I love. It doesn't help that I was most of the way through this one, read Dance with Dragons in two days, and then went back to this, lol. But at least the female character in this one wasn't terrible/died!

So much promise. So little follow-through.

There are so many promising plot lines and possibly awesome confrontations, but when we actually get the confrontations (which we don't always get) they seem to just magically resolve themselves.

And don't get me started on how this is a 200 page book padded out to 500 pages... I was very disappointed.

Great end to the trilogy. The worst part was finding yourself cheering for a character so evil you wonder if you haven't damned yourself by reading this series

Like the other two books in the series, I found this one a bit slow (tedious?) for the first half. However it took off after that and ended the series in grand fashion with some unexpected twists.

This series was one of those addictive ones where I had to finish it because I really wanted to know what would happen between Vryce and the Hunter. I didn't really enjoy the books so much, mostly because they got pretty gruesome. I got sucked in and would read for hours on end, but I'm glad I'm done with the trilogy. Not sure if I'm going to try more by the author.
